Minister Browne launches new Housing Information Hub

New data hub will improve transparency, aid public understanding, and assist evidence-based policymaking
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD today announced the new Housing Information Hub (HIH), a public-facing data hub on GOV.ie to provide accessible, authoritative housing data through interactive online dashboards. The hub will go live today (Friday 8th May).
The Housing Information Hub is a key component of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage digital-first data strategy. It will provide a single, authoritative public analytics hub for housing-related data, beginning with dashboards on planning permissions, new dwelling completions, residential commencement notices, and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
Minister Browne emphasised:
“We are experiencing greater momentum in the delivery of new housing, and I am keen that we provide a ‘one stop shop’ to track progress. This new Housing Information Hub, which builds on my Department’s Housing Insights Service, will improve transparency, aid public understanding, and assist evidence-based policymaking.
“While data is incredibly important to guide future delivery, this Government is also keenly aware of the human stories behind the numbers. Each new home delivered is life changing for an individual or a family. I want to see more and more people enjoy the benefit of secure housing as this new hub reflects the future impact of increased delivery in the months and years ahead.”
