Statement from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage - 28 July 2022

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien, has received a report from Mr. Remy Farrell SC into the management of conflicts of interest and relevant disclosures by the Deputy Chairperson of An Bord Pleanála in relation to certain Decisions of that Board and related matters.

The Minister would like to thank Mr. Farrell and Mr. Chris Mills BL who assisted Mr. Farrell in his work.

Minister O’Brien will now consider the report and its recommendations. Minister O’Brien has furnished a copy of the report to the Attorney General for his review and advices.

Minister O’Brien will not be making any further comment pending consideration of the report.
