Part 8 Mallow Town Hall, Thomas Davis Street, Mallow, Co Cork

The proposed works are to refurbish, upgrade, part demolish and extend the existing Town Hall building - a protected structure (No. 27 on the RPS) located within an Architectural Conservation Area (ACA-1); to accommodate a 200 seat auditorium, a ground floor studio space box-office, administration offices, backstage and technical facilities, a gallery, tourist information office, cafe bar/function room and flexible office space for public use.

The proposed works consist of the reconfiguration of the internal layout including alteration of some internal floor levels, demolition of the existing ground floor single-storey toilet block to the west, the existing entrance ramp on Main Street and partial demolition of the south and west perimeter walls adjoining the adjacent public carpark, construction of a new two-storey extension to the west of the existing hall and a new two-storey extension to the south gable, the provision of a new fire exit on the ground floor to the east and all associated site works.
