In accordance with the provisions of Part 9 of S.I. No. 600/2001, Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), give notice of their intention to carry out change of use from existing general office use to public office use at ground level together with some minor works to external building envelope. At 2 Navigation Square, Albert Quay, Cork. The proposed works are to a building located within the Albert Quay/Albert Road/Victoria Road Architectural Conservation Area.

The proposed development will consist of:

a) The change of use from Class 3, existing office space (210m2) to Class 2c, public office accommodating public access Monday to Friday during office hours and consisting of public counter desks, waiting area and ancillary accommodation;

b) The addition of new public access doorway to the South façade of the building at ground level;

c) The erection of wayfinding signage by the main entrance (North Elevation) to NSQ2 building, by the public side access way (West elevation) & over the proposed new access door (South elevation);

d) The addition of privacy screening/film to external glazing on both ground & first floor;

e) The erection of a secure enclosure to the combined 4 no. car parking spaces at basement -1 level;

An Appropriate Assessment Screening was undertaken for the proposed development. It concluded that there will be no potential for significant effects on any Natura 2000 sites, either alone or in combination with, any other plans or projects.

A preliminary examination for Environmental Impact Assessment was undertaken for the proposed development. It concluded that as there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment, an EIA is not required.

Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to An Coimisiún Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

Drawings and particulars of the proposed works will be available for inspection by appointment* only and with two working days’ notice, between 10.00am and 12.30pm and between 2.30pm and 4.00pm, Monday to Friday for a period of 6 weeks beginning on the date of the publication of this notice at:

Cork Passport Office, 1A S Mall, Centre, Cork, T12 CCN3

And

OPW Regional Office, Centre Park Rd, Ballintemple, Cork.
