Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre brings history to life with the Living History Tours this summer

The Office of Public Works (OPW) is delighted to announce the return of a series of living history tours at the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre, Oldbridge, Co. Meath this summer. History buffs, military enthusiasts and those seeking to expand their knowledge of a time past will enjoy the engaging history tours over the coming months.

Battle of the Boyne - Living History Tours

Visitors can step into the 17th century with Laoch Living History, meet costumed interpreters such as musketeers, artillery gunners, blacksmiths, monks and soldiers. Minister of State for responsibility for the OPW, Kevin “Boxer” Moran, said ‘I am delighted to see such interesting educational tours on offer over the coming months at the Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre. The tours promise to engage visitors and offer them an insight into what life was like for soldiers on the battlefield. Why not pay a visit, step back in time and soak up the beautiful surroundings of Oldbridge Estate’.

Join historian, Tóla Collier for engaging battlefield walks, exploring tactics, strategies and the life of the era. The tours offer visitors the chance to experience what life was like in the 17th Century at the Oldbridge estate.
