Ireland's response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Here you will find information on supports available for people fleeing the war in Ukraine including:

  • information for people arriving from Ukraine;
  • information on income supports
  • information for the general public; and
  • information for businesses

Anyone fleeing the war in Ukraine looking for State-provided accommodation in Ireland will be accommodated for a maximum of 90 days. They will be provided with food, laundry, other services and integration supports in Designated Accommodation Centres.

From 9 September 2024, people who are beneficiaries of temporary protection, living in a Designated Accommodation Centre, will have their social assistance payments changed. While in Designated Accommodation Centres, they are entitled to the Beneficiary of Temporary Protection Weekly Payment, subject to an income test. Those who are making a contribution towards the cost of their meals will have this amount included in their payment. They continue to have access to accommodation, healthcare and education, if needed.
