Note

The President as such was not a member of the Provisional Government. He was the head of the Dáil or Parliament. This Office lapsed with the establishment of the 1st Executive Council under the Constitution of Saorstát Éireann 6.12.22.

Mr. Cosgrave was elected Chairman of the Provisional Government at a meeting of that body on 25 August. 1922.

The Provisional Government was suspended on 6 December 1922 by the 1st Executive Council established under the Constitution of Saorstát Éireann.
