The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Ministers met with Trade Union and Employer representatives this afternoon in the Labour Employer Economic Forum (LEEF).
The LEEF undertakes social dialogue on economic and employment issues.
Today’s meeting focused on latest economic developments, noting continued strong employment performance despite heightened international trade uncertainty and risks. A number of specific issues and concerns were raised, and all sides agreed to ongoing engagement on any potential sectoral and labour market impacts from trade or other disruptions in the period ahead.
The meeting was also briefed on the Future Forty report by the Department of Finance, and current and future trends in migration and the labour market. The Government agreed to work collaboratively with employers and trade unions on issues in relation to migration and integration in the workplace.
The meeting also welcomed the publication of Ireland’s Action Plan to Promote Collective Bargaining 2026-2030, and agreed to work intensively through LEEF to implement the Action Plan.
