The Taoiseach will travel to Cardiff on Friday evening where he will meet with Welsh First Minister, Carwyn Jones for a bilateral engagement in advance of the triggering of Article 50 by the UK later this month.

It is expected that the Taoiseach and the First Minister will discuss the close relationship between Ireland and Wales and the importance of the Holyhead and Pembroke ports for trade and travel across these islands as well as general issues of concern arising in a Brexit context.

Following their meeting, the Taoiseach and the First Minister will both attend the Wales Ireland rugby match at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
