Welcome to the data and research page of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. The data and research function of the department is carried out by two separate units; the Data and Analytics Unit and the Research and Evaluation Unit.

In the Data and Analytics Unit (DAU) we provide statistical, data and analytic support to aid planning, monitoring and policy formulation across the department. We collect data from a number of sources to provide a set of indicators, relating to the wellbeing of children, young people, families and the communities we serve. These indicators help us track and measure progress in relation to these groups which informs policy and decision making. We also have a particular focus on data to support and assist the department's response to the situation in Ukraine.

In the Research and Evaluation Unit (REU) we support the development of evidence-based policies and services in the department. This plays an important part in ensuring the successful implementation of the department’s overall mission to enhance the lives of children, young people, adults, families and communities, recognising diversity and promoting equality of opportunity.
