National Ploughing Championships 2022

Over 125 different government stands will make up the Government of Ireland village at the 2022 National and World Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Portlaoise, Co Laois, on 20-22 September.

Visitors to the Championships will be able to:

  • apply for a passport
  • inquire about tax affairs with Revenue officials
  • claim social welfare allowances
  • access information on a range of services provided by Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine including existing and new CAP schemes
  • get health tips from HSE experts

Major themes in the Government of Ireland village will include Climate Action and Housing for All.

Government services will be available under complementary thematic structures including ‘Culture, Creativity and Innovation,’ ‘Our Rural Future – Supporting Communities,’ and ‘Sustainable Living.’

An Garda Síochana and the Department of Justice will provides services under a theme of ‘ Supporting the victims of crime’.

Visitors can call in to meet the teams from:

  • Bord Bia
  • Coast Guard
  • Met Éireann
  • Mobile Library
  • and many more

The National Archives Treaty Exhibition will be on tour in the village.

The Government of Ireland village is located at the heart of the Ploughing Championships site, adjacent to the National Ploughing Association’s Headquarters at Rows 17-20.
