Biography

Declan O'Reilly

Declan is a Deputy Assistant Chief State Solicitor with responsibility for the Criminal Assets Section in the Justice Division. He has over twenty years’ experience in asset recovery, criminal law, and public law, including seven years as Bureau Legal Officer with the Criminal Assets Bureau. He previously served in the Justice and Crime Section, managing matters concerning European Arrest Warrants, extradition, and mutual legal assistance, and in the EU Law Section, where he represented Ireland before the CJEU at hearings. He is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales, and Northern Ireland, holds an LL.M. in Commercial Law from University College Dublin, and an Advanced Diploma in White Collar Crime from the Honorable Society of King’s Inns.
