Disability Liaision Officer(DLO) Information

The DLO Network is an interdepartmental forum established to support designated Disability Liaison Officers across the Irish Civil and Public Service in carrying out their functions under the Disability Act 2005 and associated Codes of Practice.

The Network provides a structured mechanism for:

-Sharing information, guidance, and good practice.

-Promoting consistency in the DLO role across public bodies.

-Supporting professional development and peer learning.

-Identifying common operational issues and practical solutions.

-Facilitating coordinated engagement with central policy and advisory bodies.

The DLO Network supports statutory compliance and good practice, including obligations arising under Part 5 of the Disability Act 2005 in relation to statutory employment targets, but does not set policy or represent Government.

The DLO Network recognises that individual DLO responsibilities are defined within the Code of Practice for the Employment of People with a Disability in the Irish Civil Service and relevant Departmental governance structures.

To connect with your Department’s DLO, please reach out to your local HR team.
