DownloadUnder the government’s Plan for Living with COVID-19, there is now a five level framework in place for public health restrictive measures.
Nationally we are currently at Level 2, but two counties, Dublin and Donegal, are at Level 3. Measures are generally put in place for a period of three weeks, at which point they are reviewed.
Statutory Instrument 352 gives effect to a range of those measures, nationally and for Dublin city and county, and this Statutory Instrument, No. 375, amends it to give effect to specific measures for Donegal. The Donegal specific measures are to remain in operation for an initial three weeks until 17 October.
The Statutory Instrument states that it will remain in operation until 10 October. This is for drafting reasons enabling alignment with SI 352. It will be amended in due course to ensure that the specific public health measures for Donegal remain in force until 17 October, as Government agreed.
Government may decide on additional or different national or county specific public health measures in the interim. Therefore the regulations may be subject to further amendments in line with any such decisions.

DownloadThese Regulations support Phase 2 of the Ireland’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business. They came into effect from 8 June 2020. They reflect that we have moved from staying at home to staying local.
We can travel within a 20 kilometre radius of our homes or anywhere within our county for social and recreational purposes. This includes travel and leisure.
We can gather for social or recreational purposes in other people’s homes, subject to a maximum of 6 people at such a gathering.
We can exercise outdoors with others or gather outdoors with others for social and recreational purposes, subject to a maximum of 15 people.
People may travel outside of these geographical limits for visits to vulnerable persons.
Many shops and businesses can reopen. Facilities which by their nature involve close contact with other people must remain closed for now.
To safeguard public health, the Regulations restrict the number of people that may attend certain indoor and outdoor events (social, recreational, cultural, entertainment, sporting, community or educational) to 15 people.
It is an offence to organise or cause to be organised an event of this kind where the number of people attending exceeds 15 people.
