Facts/brief background

1. Mr. [ ] ('the Applicant') has made a claim for compensation under the Scheme of Compensation for Personal Injuries Criminally Inflicted ('the Scheme').

2. The application relates to an incident which occurred on the [ ] at a public house [ ]. The Applicant states that he suffered lacerations to the head and face, had [ ] teeth knocked out and a laceration to his lip. The Applicant was knocked unconscious and received [ ] staples and [ ] stitches as a result of an assault upon his person. The Applicant attended at [ ] Hospital and was an inpatient from the [ ] to the [ ] of [ ].


Eligibility under the scheme

3. The Tribunal acknowledged receipt of the Applicant's application on the [ ], and requested a copy of the Applicant's P60, a statement from the Department of Social Protection and original receipts in relation to expenditure incurred by way of this incident. The Applicant's Solicitors wrote to the Tribunal on the [ ], enclosing the application form. A garda report appears on the file dated the [ ] outlining the incident.

4. Further correspondence issued to the said Solicitors by the Tribunal on the [ ]. No response appears to have been received thereto. On the [ ] the Tribunal wrote again to the Applicant's Solicitors and no response was received thereto. Finally, on the [ ] the Tribunal wrote to the said Solicitors advising that should no response be received, the Tribunal would proceed to make a determination. No response was received to this correspondence.


Decision

5. In the absence of the provision of sufficient information by the Applicant in this case it is not possible to make a determination in relation to the matter. Therefore, no award is made pursuant to paragraph 10 (previously 11 of the Scheme).
