“As we enter the second half of this decade, it is timely to reflect on what has been achieved and to formally consider how Food Vision 2030 can evolve further, to ensure that it remains ambitious, focused, and responsive to evolving challenges and opportunities.

I decided to commence a mid-term review of Food Vision 2030 rather than begin a new strategy process, because its core missions and ambitions are as relevant to the challenges and opportunities for the agri-food sector today as they were four years ago when it was published. A mid-term review will allow us to update anything that is required to be updated, while ensuring overall policy stability. After the CAP post 2027 is agreed, it will be timely to look to the period after 2030.

The involvement of stakeholders is fundamental to this process, to ensure that Food Vision remains as a stakeholder-led strategy. This public consultation is an opportunity for all stakeholders, including the wider public, to give their views”.
