What Grants to Irish National Beekeeper Federations are
Annual grants to Irish National Beekeeper Federations provide funding so they can help their members to continually improve their methods. The grants also allow them to inform the public about the importance of bees in maintaining Irish biodiversity and crop production.
Who can claim
This grant aid is restricted to Irish National Beekeeper Federations.
The scheme covers the following costs:
- organising training courses, workshops and coaching, demonstrations or information projects
- the costs for travel, accommodation and expenses of the participants
- providing replacement services when participants are away
Up to 100% of costs can be claimed.
In the case of demonstration projects, funding is available for:
- the construction, purchase, leasing, or improvement of property, with land only being eligible for 10 % of total eligible costs of the operation
- the purchase or lease purchase of machinery and equipment up to its market value
- general costs such as architect, engineer and consultation fees and fees relating to advice on environmental and economic sustainability
- computer software, patents, licences, copyrights and trademarks
Payment rates
The annual grants scheme for beekeeper federations has a budget of €15,000 per beneficiary.
