Principal Officer, Adoption Policy Unit

Responsibility at Principal Officer level for adoption legislation, including the Birth Information and Tracing Act 2022, and for ensuring that adoption policies are developed, strengthened and aligned with legislation, practice and resources to achieve optimum outcomes for adopted persons, birth parents and adoptive parents. This includes responsibility at Principal Officer level for oversight of the Adoption Authority of Ireland. He also has responsibility at Principal Officer level for management of the Government response to illegal birth registration.
