Circular Economy

Our relationship with stuff has become unsustainable.

We need to shift how we make, use and dispose of stuff, by moving to a circular economy.

It means preventing waste through keeping your things in use for as long as possible, repairing, sharing and recycling more.

Government policy is moving towards a circular economy, where we keep resources in circulation for as long as possible, and waste is minimised. The government published the Circular Economy Strategy in 2021, and the Circular Economy Act became law in 2022.

The Circular Economy Fund provides funding to a wide range of activities that promote and support Ireland's transition to a Circular Economy.
