Consultation Overview
The aim of the consultation is to gather stakeholder feedback on the draft Regulations. An information note is provided on the proposed changes provided for in the draft Regulations.
Background
Timmy Dooley TD, Minister of State for the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, gives statutory notice of his intention to make the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2025, to provide for the management of the wild salmon and sea trout fishery by Inland Fisheries Ireland from 1 January 2026.
A copy of the draft regulations is open for public inspection at our offices in Cavan. The draft regulations are also available to view or download above.
How to make a submission
Anyone wishing to submit observations on or objections to the draft regulations can do so by email or post.
The closing date for submissions is 5.30pm on 20 December 2025.
Late submissions will not be considered.
All valid submissions received will be published on the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment website.
