Background

Timmy Dooley TD, Minister of State for the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, gives statutory notice of his intention to make the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2026, to provide for the management of the wild salmon and sea trout fishery by Inland Fisheries Ireland.

A copy of the draft regulations is open for public inspection at the offices of the department in Cavan. The draft regulations are also available to download above.

How to make a submission

Anyone wishing to submit observations on or objections to the draft regulations can do so by email or post.

The closing date for submissions is 5.30pm on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

Late submissions will not be considered. All valid submissions received will be published on the department's website.
