The objectives of the Climate Action and Environment Division is the:
- development and implementation of the National Mitigation Plan
- development and implementation of the National Adaptation Framework
- ensuring that Ireland progresses towards meeting its EU and international emissions reductions targets
- coordination of the sectoral adaptation planning process across Government
- developing and supporting of an inclusive process of community engagement on climate change through the National Dialogue on Climate Change
