Alert on scam phone calls, text messages and emails

We are aware of an increase in scam phone calls, text messages and emails circulating claiming to be about energy grants or schemes.

Don't click on suspicious links or share personal information.

Government departments and agencies or your bank will never phone, text, email or video call you unexpectedly asking for your bank details.

If in doubt, don't click.

If you believe you are a victim of a cyber crime, contact your local Garda station immediately and take screenshots of texts, emails or other communications.

If you have shared any bank account details in responding to a call, text or email that is suspected to be a scam, please contact your bank immediately.

More information on scam communications is available on gov.ie.
