Principal Advisor, Environment and Climate Research and Advisory Unit

The Principal Advisor in the Environment and Climate Research and Advisory Unit has specific responsibility for the provision of technical and scientific advice to support national policy across a wide range of climate and environment areas, for research and innovation, and for EU programmes (including the LIFE Programme, Innovation Fund, Peace Plus and the Cities Mission). The unit is also leading the development of an Environmental Policy Statement and carries out an independent environmental assessment function for the department in respect of certain matters.
