The Principal Officer, Geoscience Policy Section has responsibility for the following:
- Implementation of the 2022 Policy Statement on Mineral Exploration and Mining-Critical Raw Materials for the Circular Economy Transition
- Implementation of the 2023 Policy Statement on Geothermal Energy for a Circular Economy
- Driving implementation at national level of Geoscience aspects of the EU Critical Raw Materials Act
- Organisational reform of the Geoscience Regulatory Office (GSRO) and Geological Survey Ireland (GSI)
