Principal Officer, Offshore Wind Development Section

The Offshore Wind Development Section supports the work of the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment and government in the development of offshore renewable energy policy to support Ireland's target of 80% of electricity demand to be supplied by renewable electricity sources, including 5GW of offshore wind, and to reach a net-zero energy system by 2050 by providing viable routes to market for offshore renewable energy projects. The section leads on the Offshore Wind Delivery Taskforce (OWDT), oversees the Offshore Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (ORESS) auction programme, and heads the Offshore Renewable Energy Communications office.
