Responsible at Principal Officer level for developing policy for arts and cultural capital grant schemes and the oversight and provision of funding on a number of major capital projects set out in the National Development Plan including the National Archives Archival Repository, the National Library of Ireland and the Abbey Theatre.

Responsibility for the Safe to Create Programme, Genealogy, developing policy for the audiovisual sector including operating the tax-based incentive schemes for film & gaming as well as oversight of the Arts Council, Screen Ireland and the National Library of Ireland.
