The grants cover a range of costs, including building work and equipment, in addition to professional fees. The grants will also support the delivery of the aims of the Community and Language Support Programme for the benefit of the communities and for the Irish language in these areas.

Announcing the funding today, Minister Byrne said:

“As Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, I am committed to supporting the Gaeltacht community to develop and provide high-standard facilities and services to the public. The seven projects that will benefit from this capital funding are an excellent example of the various kinds of capital support available under the Community and Language Support Programme for Gaeltacht groups and organisations. I am certain that communities in these Gaeltacht areas will benefit from the access to new and improved facilities and services as a result of this funding.
