Tech Féile Awards 2021 and Dialann Scoile 2021 launched by Minister of State Jack Chambers

The Minister of State for the Gaeltacht and Sport, Jack Chambers TD, launched the 2021 Tech Féile Awards as well as Dialann Scoile 2021 today at the ADAPT Centre in Dublin City University.

Tech Féile is an annual event that has been held for a number of years and is an integral part of the TechSpace Programme. It is the largest Irish language technology event in Ireland that gives young people the opportunity to be creative and artistic. This year for the first time ever, the event was held online. Minister of State Chambers congratulated all the winners of the 2021 competition today, especially those who won the top 2021 Tech Féile awards:

  • Teacher of the Year - Emer Ní Éafa - Coláiste Ghlór na Mara, Dublin
  • TechSpacer of the Year - Sibéal Ní Ógáin - Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne, Kerry
  • Organisation of the Year - Coláiste an Eachréidh, Gaillimh

Speaking at the launch today, Minister of State Chambers said:

“I would like to thank everyone who took part in this year’s Tech Féile 2021, an event that was challenging to bring online for the first time. Congratulations to all of the winners. These awards recognise the outstanding work of young people and the organisation in the digital world of the Irish language, promoting the language in modern digital technology. This demonstrates the clear understanding of those who took part in the Festival of the value of our own native language.”

The Minister of State launched Dialann Scoile 2021 today also, which is part of the TechSpace Programme and funded by the Minister of State’s department:

“Investing in modern technology is really important. We all understand that technology is changing all the time. It is clearly an attractive resource and I commend TechSpace for their achievements.”
