Principal Officer, Electronic Communications Policy and Regulation

The Principal Officer, Electronic Communications Policy and Regulation has responsibility for overseeing delivery on digital legislation and shaping future European policy in the telecommunications sector in line with commitments in the Programme for Government, Departmental Statement of Strategy and the Digital Connectivity Strategy. Specifically, the key strategic action for Digital Connectivity Delivery is to deliver world class connectivity and communications along with ensuring best in class governance and regulation for the sector. This role includes consistently advocating Ireland's electronic communications policy positions at national, EU and international level, and oversight of the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg).
