Since November 2020, Kim has been working at the Directorate for International Affairs of the Belgian National Crisis Centre (NCCN), which is part of the Federal Public Service Home Affairs. She is responsible for relations with the Benelux Union. In this capacity, she maintains close contacts with the Secretariat-General of the Benelux Union and contributes to the drafting of Benelux annual and multiannual plans. In addition, whenever Belgium holds the Presidency of the Benelux Union - specifically every three years - she organizes several Benelux workshops on a relevant topic in crisis management. Furthermore, Kim has set up a network of crisis management contact persons in around 60 embassies in Belgium. She also maintains bilateral contacts with the crisis centers of neighbouring countries and prepares the Minister of Home Affairs and the Director-General of the NCCN for meetings with foreign high-level officials by coordinating their briefing notes on crisis management. In addition, she maintains contact with several multilateral organisations.
Previously, Kim worked for more than 10 years at the Office of the Commissioner General for Refugees and Stateless Persons of the Federal Public Service Home Affairs, where she handled asylum cases both as a case officer and as a supervisor.
Kim holds a master’s degree in Criminological Sciences and a master’s degree in political sciences.
