Grainne Cullen

Grainne Cullen is one of the Principal Officers over the Social Inclusion Unit.

Her responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing policy to address educational disadvantage
  • Managing the national DEIS (Delivering Equity of opportunity In our Schools) programme
  • Developing and managing the DEIS plus scheme (for schools with the very highest concentration of children at risk of educational disadvantage)
  • Policy oversight for the School Completion Programme (SCP) and the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Schemes operated through Tusla' Education Support Service (TESS)
  • Policy development and implementation oversight for the Traveller and Roma Education Strategy – ensuring that children and young people of Traveller and Roma background have access to, and meaningful engagement in education.
