Teresa McNeill

Teresa is responsible at Principal Officer level for:

• Management of the reporting of child protection concerns received by DES staff members
• Management of the administration of appeals against expulsions, suspensions and refusals to enrol (Section 29 appeals)
• Advancement of legislation to provide for a Student and Parent Charter in every school
• Management of Post-Primary Online Database
• Management of the processing of appeals against refusals to grant an exemption from the study of Irish
• Representing the DES on the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning
• Management of liaison between the DES and the National Parent Councils and the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union
• Oversight of the schools’ vaccination programmes administered by the HSE
• Management of certain aspects of the Home Tuition schemes of the DES
• Representing the Section on various inter-Departmental and inter-agency committees and units
