Who we are
The DEIS Advisory Group includes representation from relevant units in the Department of Education and Youth, the education partners and other stakeholders in the area of educational disadvantage.
What we do
The main role of the group currently is to progress the development and implementation of the new DEIS Plan and DEIS Plus scheme.
Terms of reference
The purpose of this group is to provide a structure to:
- to progress the development and implementation of the new DEIS Plan
- to provide advice on the implementation of actions under the plan in particular:
- identify enablers to assist in implementation.
- advise on any options on how implementation should occur.
- put in place a review process for any issues that have arisen that may impact the implementations along with possible solutions for those issues
- draw attention to anything that could possibly impact implementation or timeline
- to provide and receive updates to the Programme Steering Group
- to establish working groups in areas which require further research and/or areas that emerge in the work that shows further research is required
- to examine and make recommendations based on reports produced by the working groups to the Programme Steering Group
- to provide advice on the establishment of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.
- ensure a coordinated approach to the implementation.
