The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Policy Unit promotes the integration of ICT in teaching and learning in first and second level schools.
What we do
- policy research, analysis and advice addressing the integration of ICT into teaching and learning
- co-ordination of the ICT in Schools Programme, in conjunction with the Department’s front line support services for schools and key agencies
- funding a range of ICT continuous professional development courses for teachers www.teachercpd.ie, accompanied by www.scoilnet.ie, the national portal for curriculum-relevant digital content for use in teaching and learning (services delivered by the Professional *development Service for Teachers (PDST))
- funding of the schools broadband access service (services delivered by the PDST).
