Traveller and Roma Education Forum


Who we are

Traveller and Roma Education Forum

The Traveller and Roma Education Forum is being established by the Department of Education in response to an action within the Traveller and Roma Education Strategy (TRES) Plan for implementation and action 2024-2026

Members of the group will have an understanding of Traveller and Roma education policy and the issues and challenges that arise in the context of Traveller and Roma education, including with respect to access, attendance, participation, retention and outcomes.

Expected timeframe for the group to conclude its work: Ongoing

Terms of Reference

  • Facilitate consultation between policy makers and members of the Traveller and Roma communities on matters across the education system.
  • Input into and consider Traveller and Roma interests and issues in education policy development and implementation.
  • Inform the review of progress and identify areas where further action, consultation, research and evaluation are required.
