What the Employee Assistance Service is
Following the Office of Government Procurement tendering process, Spectrum.Life was awarded the new Employee Assistance Service (EAS) contract from 26 July 2024. The service is available to all school staff and is known as ‘Wellbeing Together: Folláine le Chéile’. For further information, please refer to the below circular.
The EAS can help with a wide variety of problems. The EAS team of counsellors and experts are highly experienced in personal or work-related issues, and can support anyone suffering with issues including:
- Depression, anxiety, stress
- Grief and bereavement
- Addictions
- Relationships and marital problems
- Work stress and work-life balance issues
- Workplace conflict and communication
- Life transition such as career progression or retirement.
The EAS also provides advice and support to managers and delivers interventions to help them deal with health and wellbeing issues in the workplace.
Where clinically appropriate, short-term counselling is available to employees and their family members. A family member includes a spouse, civil partner or dependent, where the family member can be described as a person over the age of 16 and residing at the family home. In addition, online cognitive behavioural therapy is also provided to employees.
A bespoke wellbeing platform and app are available offering a host of online services with access to a Digital Gym, monthly Wellbeing Series, videos, podcasts and blogs on topics around mental health, family life, exercise and nutrition. The platform is available via web, iOS app or Android app.
As part of the EAS, a Mental Health Promotion Manager helps to support and deliver evidence-based mental health and wellbeing initiatives including a series of webinars and seminars that are available throughout the year.
