Music Generation

Music Generation is a non-mainstream out-of-school national music education programme that aims to transform the lives of children and young people through access to high-quality, subsidised performance music education.

Music Generation focuses on the provision of vocal and instrumental learning in all musical genres and styles in out-of-school settings. The programme is delivered by professional musician tutors and includes all pedagogical approaches and practices appropriate to particular musical cultures and traditions.

Established in 2010, Music Generation is funded annually by the Department of Education and Youth alongside philanthropic and other sources.
