Public consultation on the introduction of Professional Indemnity Insurance for Patent/Trade Mark Agents

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation has launched a public consultation on the introduction of Professional Indemnity Insurance for Patent/Trade Mark Agents.
Professional Indemnity Insurance is a form of liability insurance providing financial protection for those engaged in providing professional advice and services. The introduction of Professional Indemnity Insurance for Patent/Trade Mark Agents would ensure a level of financial security for agents when defending against a negligence claim and financial cover for any damages that may be awarded against them in relation to errors or omissions in the services provided.
The closing date for submissions is Friday 26 January 2018.
