Nextgen Heat - Next Generation Heat Pump for Affordable Decarbonisation of Heating project

Exergyn, Dublin City University (DCU) and Fort Wayne Metals.

Exergyn Ltd, DCU and Fort Wayne Metals Ireland Ltd were awarded €2.4 million under Call 2 of the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund (DTIF).

Exergyn sought to develop a solid state heat pump that can convert electrically driven mechanical energy into heat or cooling. The goal is to develop a system that is more efficient than both natural gas boilers and vapor-compressed heat pumps, aiding the national and global effect to become less reliant on fossil fuels and decarbonise heating and cooling systems.
