The Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2014 provides for the amalgamation the National Consumer Agency and the Competition Authority into the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and gives effect to other changes to competition and consumer law including making provision for regulating certain practices in the grocery goods sector and giving effect to the recommendations of the Advisory Group on Media Mergers. The CCPC was statutorily established on the 31st October 2014.
