These Regulations give effect in Irish law to the provisions of the Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 by amending the European Union (Lifts and Safety Components for Lifts) Regulations 2017 (SI No 232 of 2017) that gave effect to Directive 2014/33/EU.
