Head of Legal Unit, Corporate Services Division

The Head of Legal Unit has responsibility for the management and coordination of legal services to the Department. They ensure that the Legal Advisors Unit provides independent and objective legal advice on all issues referred. They have responsibility for engaging early with policy issues emerging within the Department with a view to providing early high level strategic advices. The role also includes the establishment of a network of legal advisers within the department including in the areas of trade policy, company law and employment law to ensure that there is oversight and consistency in the legal advice provided across the department.
