Focus on Sectors

A core objective of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation (DBEI) is to drive the development of Ireland’s enterprises which are trading internationally. DBEI and its enterprise development agencies have developed a range of specific and horizontal supports which assist internationally trading enterprises.

DBEI, in conjunction with other departments and state bodies, regularly monitors key sectors to anticipate needs and realise emerging opportunities. DBEI has developed a series of briefings on 16 important sectors entitled Focus on Sectors. Each one includes a useful infographic, provides an overview of international trends for the sector concerned and information on how the sector is developing in Ireland.

Focus on Sectors will be reviewed annually. It is hoped that Focus on Sectors provides both an insight into the work of DBEI, and a useful overview of Ireland’s key sectors.
