The Fiscal Policy Unit is responsible for analysing and offering advice on tax policies.
This includes:
- providing budgetary advice to restore and maintain public finances
- ensuring delivery against fiscal targets. This involves observing any potential risks and developing contingency plans around them
- delivering all budgetary commitments to make sure they're in line with domestic and European needs
- enhancing the quality and accessibility of fiscal documents to aid greater transparency
