Minister Chambers welcomes the upgrading of Ireland’s long-term credit rating to AA by Scope Ratings

The Minister for Finance Jack Chambers TD., has welcomed Scope Ratings upgrading of Ireland’s long-term credit rating to AA and the change of Ireland’s outlook to stable.

Scope Ratings have upgraded Ireland to an AA rating from an AA- rating and changed Ireland’s outlook to stable. Scope cite Ireland’s strong public finances and robust economic growth potential, as the key drivers behind the upgrade.

The Minister for Finance, Jack Chambers T.D. said:

“I welcome Scope Ratings upgrade of Ireland’s long-term credit ratings to AA. This is again another strong indicator of the strength and resilience of our economy following another positive rating report earlier this month. As I stated previously, these positive ratings reflect this Government’s commitment to a sustainable approach to budgetary policy while continuing to invest in our public services and providing support to households.”
