The Tánaiste and Minister for Finance, Simon Harris TD, has appointed a new member to the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council, Professor Karina Doorley, with immediate effect.
Professor Doorley was appointed from a panel of shortlisted candidates set up following an open selection process by Public Jobs earlier this year. The appointment of Professor Doorley to the Council will fill a pre-existing vacancy when outgoing Council member, Professor Adele Bergin’s term of office came to an end on 31 July 2025.
The Tánaiste said:
“I welcome the appointment to the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council of Professor Doorley. I wish to congratulate her on her appointment to the Council and to wish her well in her important role. I would also like to express my appreciation to the outgoing Member, Professor Adele Bergin for her contribution to the work of the Council since her appointment in 2021”.
