Welcome to our 2nd issue of What’s News in Financial Literacy – our newsletter to all stakeholders involved in Ireland’s Financial Literacy Ecosystem.
Autumn marks an opportunity to reflect on all that has taken place over the year. Since our last newsletter, four Working Groups have been established and have held their first meetings. On International Literacy Day the Financial Literacy Team issued the 2026 Stakeholder Actions Survey, looking for updates on 2025 financial literacy actions and plans for 2026 and beyond. During the year, stakeholders have also continued their work delivering financial literacy initiatives across the country. Some of these initiatives as well as a brief update on the Strategy’s implementation are highlighted below.
As we approach Autumn’s end, now is the time to look forward at how to build on the progress that has been made over 2025. The Financial Literacy Team is continuing its work to support the delivery of the Strategy’s mission to improve financial literacy in Ireland through greater cooperation, coordination and cohesion across the financial literacy ecosystem.
Early next year, we will publish our next action plan as well as a Review of Year 1 of the Strategy. Planning is also underway for our first Annual Financial Literacy Stakeholder Forum, which will bring those involved in financial literacy in Ireland together to discuss potential solutions to overcoming the hurdles we face in reaching specific target groups and delivering on the Strategy’s mission.
More to follow.
