Statement of Strategy


Our Mission

To lead in the achievement of the Government’s economic, fiscal and financial policy goals, having regard to the commitments set out in the Programme for Government – Securing Ireland’s Future.

Our Values

Our core values guide our behaviour, our decisions and actions. They are central to our shared sense of purpose as both employees and civil servants.

  • Integrity: at all times we display honesty and transparency in our work.
  • Impartiality: we are committed to advising and implementing policy impartially and in an objective and equal manner.
  • Inclusion: we adopt an inclusive approach to policy making across our policy remit and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, that is representative of the community we serve.
  • Respect: for all stakeholders, the public, our colleagues internally and across the Public Service.
  • Accountability: in accepting responsibility for our actions in a fully transparent manner.

As an organisation, our people believe in and live by our values. This defines the strong ethos and culture of our Department and we have a shared purpose and commitment to achieving our strategic goals.

  5. Promoting environmentally sustainable economic progress
  6. An organisation with a shared sense of purpose where our people are valued, supported and empowered to deliver on our strategy
