Éamonn Mac Aodha

Eamonn Mac Aodha is Director of both DCAD’s Multilateral EU unit and the Division’s Business Support Unit/Secretariat.

In terms of his role as Director of Multilateral EU Unit his key areas of responsibility include;

  • shaping Ireland’s input into EU development cooperation
  • advising officials and Ministers on policy with regard to EU development cooperation
  • working with other government agencies and Departments to ensure a coherent approach to matters covered by the Unit
  • managing and shaping Ireland’s positions on migration and development
  • coordinating and contributing to the Department of Foreign Affairs position on trade and development

In terms of his role as Director of DCAD’s Business Support Unit/Secretariat his key areas of responsibility include;

  • provision of Human Resource and other administrative support to the Division
  • strategic and policy oversight mechanisms for the aid programme
  • statistical and other analysis of the programme, including reporting to the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee
  • membership of DCAD’s Senior Management Group (SMG)
